We have a flat-rate shipping fee of $12 on each order. No matter how many of your Better Chew favorites you order, shipping is always just $12!

How do you keep food fresh in transit?2021-08-10T20:30:18+00:00

We ship your Better Chew proteins with care using an insulated box containing dry ice to keep everything frozen and cold. Once received, either refrigerate if you plan on cooking within 7 days or freeze. Do not consume any products that arrive above 4° C.

We’re committed to tackling packaging waste, while ensuring that our ingredients reach our customers in the safest and highest quality conditions. We use packaging that is recyclable or reusable and also keeps the food at a safe temperature during the entire journey from our facility to our customers’ home. Here are some tips for recycling your Better Chew packaging:

    • Box – All Better Chew boxes are made from recycled cardboard and are curbside recyclable.
    • Produce Bags – The bags containing the Better Chew proteins can be recycled at all locations that accept plastic bags.

Keep all Better Chew proteins frozen until ready to use. Thaw prior to cooking for best results.

Our Better Chew proteins can last in the freezer up to 6 months, as will be reflected with the expiration date listed on each bag. Better Chew proteins should be used within 5 days of being thawed.

All Better Chew proteins should be either heated or cooked according to the instructions listed on each bag prior to consumption.

Yes! We are currently located in Whole Foods across the Northern California Region and other small independent grocers nation-wide. Find stores near you using the store locator on our Find Us page.

Yes! Our current restaurant partners include Vegan Mob, Malibu’s Burgers, and The Butcher’s Son Vegan Delicatessen & Bakery. All are located in Oakland and Berkeley, CA.

In alignment with our mission to democratize the access of healthy foods, we have created the Better Chew Vegan Soul Box service which allows us to bring our favorite Better Chew proteins to your community via online purchase and delivery. We currently offer a small (9 complete meals) and a large (18 complete meals) option to fit your preference. Choose from a selection of Better Chew Products:  Shredded “Steak,” Shredded “Chicken”, Fried “Chicken”, and more! Each box is packaged with care to ensure products stay at a safe temperature.

Currently, our products are only available for purchase at Whole Foods Market locations in the Northern California and Southern Pacific regions, Vegas, and Lake Tahoe. Use the store locator on our Find Us page to find a store near you. If you are in the Oakland, CA area, visit our restaurant partners to experience house-made recipes featuring many of our plant-based products! Our Better Chew Boxes can be ordered online if you’re located on the West Coast, and we’ll deliver directly to your door.
